In Philippians 2, Paul reminds us that Jesus Christ showed us what “grace” means and encourages us to live as Christ. “Grace” is always about someone else. Jesus gave up the wonders of heaven in order to secure blessings for others (us). Those who now follow Jesus, seek to do the same. Secure in God’s love, we are bold to look outward in how we can also live for others. That is what our Summer of Grace is all about. How are YOU living for others?
We are already seeing some of our members take up the call to discipleship. One family held a pool party at their home, asking friends to bring donations to the Co-Ops to the party. One member is now carrying a backpack when they walk their neighborhood park, handing out bottles of water to fellow walkers with Trinity’s labels. Some have conducted neighborhood food drives.
But we are only half way through summer – so what are you doing? Grace Happens when each of us understand that sharing the love of Christ is not what someone else does, but what I do. The Summer of Grace is not the work of a committee or a mission team. It is a call for every one of us to do something for the gospel. If you do not participate, the body of Christ and the work of the church are diminished. Your gift, your time, your action is vital to our effort to let people know God loves them.
So if you are participating – thanks. If not, let’s get started!
PRAY – what is God asking you to do for the sake of the gospel? Prayer Walk, Food collections, Inviting friends,?
DO – as an individual, as a family, as a group of friends
Don’t miss this opportunity to bring God’s love to our neighborhoods.
