Brief History of Trinity Lutheran Church
In 1974, Trinity was organized under the leadership of Rev. Donald Hanberry after visiting approximately 5,000 homes door-to-door. The original charter was signed by 218 members. At the time, Trinity was the largest organizing congregation of the Southeastern Synod of the Lutheran Church in America. Rev. Hanberry served as pastor until 1987.
Today Trinity is served by Rev. Dale Sillik (1987) and Rev. Jill Henning (1995). Trinity established a Pre-school 25 years ago and expanded to include a "Before and After School" care program, TLC 4 Kids. Trinity has assisted in starting two other Gwinnett County churches; Christ the Lord in Lawrenceville and Community of Grace in Grayson. Trinity is a founding member of the Southeast Gwinnett Co-op and a member of the Lilburn Co-op ministries.
Trinity continues to grow and seek to be a community center, reaching out to our neighbors. Celebrating over 30 years of worship, fellowship, service and growth.
