So, I’ve been Pastor of Faith Development for almost 5 months and as I have shared the change in my call to folks many have asked, “so what does that mean?” Well in January of this year I set some goals with the church council of how we can develop programs to support our members in their spiritual growth and faith development. This means, in less technical terms, to help our members grow in their relationship with God and with each other as the body of Christ. Some of those goals included the prayer shawl ministry, the cancer support group, the labyrinth workshop and continuing the faith steps program. But as I look at how to develop programs to support your faith development one of the things that has come to mind for me is that we are a large congregation with diverse needs and I’m not really sure what they are.

    So on May 18^th in your worship bulletin, there will be a Faith Development survey that I hope you will take some time to fill out and help me better assess what type of programs, workshops and classes that you and your family might be interested in. In the survey there will be an opportunity for you to write in other ideas that we might not have thought about. 

    My hope to is to develop a comprehensive program that fits the needs of the congregation to help you grow in your discipleship and your relationship with God. This survey will also be included in the June newsletter and I do hope that through these two opportunities that you will fill it out and return it to the box located in Hanberry Hall. As I’ve often shared if you have a particular interested or desire to learn something I can almost guarantee that there are 5 or 6 other folks here at Trinity that would be interested in it as well.
