“In my Father’s House there are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go and prepare a place for you?” John 14:2
As we celebrate the joy and wonder of the resurrection, we look forward to Jesus’ return and our welcome into the Father’s eternal house. But Jesus makes it clear that we are to do more than simply wait. We are to be active in caring for others.
We have folks, right here in our community, who need a place to live. Not in the sweet by and by, when we die – but today. Habitat for Humanity does that. These are homes for people in need, rooting them in a community with a helping hand – not a hand out.
We have an incredible opportunity to be a part of the Habitat for Humanity ministry. Trinity has participated in constructing 5 homes in the past and this year we have the chance to work on 2 more. Thanks to Thrivent Builds, Lutherans are coming together to build two homes in Gwinnett County this year. The first was completed this Spring and the second is underway. Our site workdays for the second house are August 11, Sept. 15, and Oct 27 We need 10 people each day.
