Holy Week 2021
Updated: Mar 30, 2021

Below is the schedule for worship during Holy Week. As we celebrate the greatest gift given to God's children, the gift of God's own self for the salvation of the world, we encourage you to participate in ways that bring the true meaning of Easter to life! In an effort to accommodate as many people as possible for Easter Sunday, please sign up for the indoor or outdoor worship you plan to attend as soon as possible.
March 28 — Palm/Passion Sunday
We celebrate Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem and his passion and death as cries of "Hosanna to the Son of David" change to "Crucify him!" Trinity is planning an 8:30 AM in-person, indoor worship as well as an in-person, outdoor worship at 11:30 AM. The 8:30 AM worship will be livestreamed.
This worship experience will entail the blessing of the palms (palm crosses) and the reading of the passion story of Christ. Both worship times will include Holy Communion with Drive-Thru Communion from 10:00–10:30 AM.
March 31 — Wednesday of Holy Week
Trinity will provide a service for healing and peace through Scripture and prayer around the cross provided virtually at 7:00 PM. This service helps prepare us for the gift of forgiveness and healing through the events of Christ's passion on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. The livestream will be broadcast from our YouTube channel and can also be accessed at our Facebook page or website.
April 1 — Maundy Thursday
Trinity is planning an in-person, outdoor worship at 12:15 PM and in-person, indoor worship at 7:00 PM. The 7:00 PM worship will also be livestreamed. Both worship times will offer Holy Communion, and Drive-Thru Communion will be offered from 5:30–6:00 PM. The worship services will be based on the betrayal and denial of Christ (dialogue skit between Peter and Judas). We will conclude the 7:00 PM worship with the stripping of the altar.
April 2 — Good Friday Trinity is planning an in-person, outdoor worship at 12:15 PM as well as an in-person, indoor worship at 7:00 PM. The 7:00 PM worship will be livestreamed. The Good Friday worship will be a Tenebrae worship of diminishing light as we remember Christ's darkest moments on the cross.
April 4 — Easter Sunday We gather to celebrate Christ's resurrection and victory over sin and death, bringing new life to all! Trinity is planning an in-person, outdoor Sunrise Service at 6:30 AM in the labyrinth area. We also plan to offer an in-person, indoor worship at 8:30 AM as well as an in-person, outdoor worship at 11:30 AM. Drive-Thru Communion will be from 10:00–10:30 AM. For the outdoor worship at 11:30 AM, participants are encouraged to bring a flower(s) to be added to the cross behind the altar area.
Prayer Vigil Opportunity Trinity will also offer a prayer vigil from 9:00 PM on Good Friday through 6:00 AM on Easter Sunday. The prayer vigil is divided into 1/2 hour time slots, and our goal is to have someone praying at all times. You may choose one or more time slots. You may also pray from home or use the outdoor labyrinth at Trinity during daylight hours. (We encourage people not to use the labyrinth in the dark for security purposes!) Devotional materials to be provided. Sign up for the vigil at the link below.
