Location Change for Easter Worship
Due to the forecast of inclement weather for tomorrow morning, our 6:30 AM sunrise service and 8:30 AM outdoor worship will move indoors to the sanctuary.
Below is the schedule for worship during Holy Week. As we celebrate the greatest gift given to God’s children, the gift of God’s own self for the salvation of the world, we encourage you to participate in ways that bring the true meaning of Easter to life!
No registration required. Please bring a chair and bulletin for outdoor worship. We will send notice by email should any of the outdoor services be moved to the sanctuary due to weather.
April 10 — Palm/Passion Sunday
We celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem and his passion and death as cries of “Hosanna to the Son of David” change to “Crucify him!” Trinity is planning an indoor service at 8:30 AM & 11:00 AM. The worship services will also be livestreamed. Both worship services will begin outdoors at the front entrance of the church. This worship experience will entail the blessing of palms (palm crosses) as well as the reading of the passion story of Christ. Both worship times will include Holy Communion with drive thru communion from 12:00 PM–12:15 PM in the front of the church.
April 13 — Wednesday of Holy Week
Trinity will provide a service for healing and peace through Scripture and prayer around the cross provided both in-person in Hanberry Hall as well as virtually starting at 7:00 PM. This service helps to prepare us for gifts of forgiveness and healing through the events of Christ’s passion on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
April 14 — Maundy Thursday
Trinity is planning an outdoor worship at 12 noon and an indoor worship at 7:00 PM. The 7:00 PM worship will also be live-streamed. Both worship times will offer Holy Communion. We will conclude the 7:00 PM worship with the stripping of the altar.
April 15 — Good Friday
Trinity is planning an outdoor worship at 12 noon as well as an indoor worship at 7:00 PM. The 7:00 PM worship will be live-streamed. The Good Friday worship will be a Tenebrae worship of diminishing light as we remember Christ’s darkest moments on the cross.
April 17 — Easter Sunday
We gather to celebrate Christ’s resurrection and victory over sin and death, bringing new life to all! Trinity is planning an outdoor Sunrise Service at 6:30 AM in the labyrinth area, outdoor worship at 8:30 AM, and indoor worship at 11:00 AM. Drive-Thru Communion will be from 12:00PM–12:15 PM. **For the outdoor worship at 8:30 AM, participants are encouraged to bring a flower(s) to be added to the cross behind the altar area.
Prayer Vigil Opportunity
Trinity will also offer a prayer vigil from 9:00 PM on Good Friday through 6:00 AM on Easter Sunday morning. The prayer vigil is divided into ½ hour time slots, and our goal is to have someone praying at all times. You may choose one or more time slots. **Note: We ask that people come in pairs if at all possible during the evening hours when it is dark. You may pray from home or at the prayer labyrinth in Hanberry Hall. You may also use the outdoor labyrinth at Trinity during daylight hours (we encourage people not to use the outdoor labyrinth in the dark for security purposes). Devotional materials to be provided.
